Employment Opportunities
Interviews conducted beginning mid-August for work between September 20 – November 1
Employees at Maris Farms must be team players who are always willing to be helpful in any number of tasks, not just the particular task/duty for which they are hired. Smiles and a joyful attitude are paramount as well as a willingness to engage with fellow employees and customers in order to make their visit to the farm enjoyable. Below, we’ve provided descriptions of various jobs available during the fall season. Staff assignments will be based on employee candidate’s strengths, experience and overall skill sets identified during interviews.
FAQs:
-Age requirement: employees must be at least 14 years of age, excluding previous employees.
-Compensation: most positions begin at $8.07/hr.
-Pay Days: Monthly – the first week of October and the first week of November.
-Work schedule: it begins light for the first week and increases in need and demand the last three weekends of October. 98% of the staff will only be needed weekend days in October.
-Cell phones: yes, you can bring a cell phone; no, you cannot use it when you are on the clock; We recommend you turn it off or leave it in your car or work locker while you are on the clock.
-Perks: we do provide special perks such as concession discounts (for you during work hours), complimentary event passes (which you can share with friends and family) and an awesome post-season party.
-Socializing at work: short exchanges are encouraged with your workmates, but anything more than about 30-60 seconds in considered “messing around.” Please respect both your employer’s time and your fellow employees…you may be putting your work mate(s) in an uncomfortable position by “over” exchanging during work shifts, so please spend more time paying attention to customers and your duties/tasks than you do having employee exchanges.
